The Winter Arc is the last 90 days of the year spent on a few daily rules — training, food, sleep, screens, one block of real work — so January starts in motion. The contract is the part that makes it stick: your rules, your dates, your signature. (New to the idea? Start with what the Winter Arc is.) Downloading a random template PDF works too, but a contract that is not in your words and does not have your dates is a poster, not a contract. Here is how to make yours.
How to get your PDF
The generator is the whole tool. Write your rules — or pick from the 60 rule ideas — set your start date, add a motto if you want one, and export.
On a computer
- Build. Type your rules and dates into the generator. The preview on the right is exactly what prints.
- Click "Print or PDF". The print dialog opens with your contract on page 1 and the 90-day tracker sheet on page 2.
- Choose "Save as PDF" as the destination (called "Microsoft Print to PDF" on Windows, "Save as PDF" on Mac). Save, print, sign.
On an iPhone or iPad
- Build the contract in Safari, then tap Print or PDF.
- In the print preview, pinch out on the page thumbnail with two fingers. This opens the full PDF view.
- Tap Share, then Save to Files, or share it straight to your notes or a friend.
On Android, tap Print or PDF, then in the print menu choose Save as PDF. If your browser's print menu fights you, the export also works from the browser menu's own Print command — the pages are laid out for it either way.
Why your own beats a ready-made template
- It has your signature on it. A contract you typed, dated and signed is a promise; a stranger's PDF you printed is a decoration. The signature is the oldest commitment device there is, and it costs you nothing.
- The rules fit your life. Template PDFs ship with someone else's rules — usually too many, and always the same five. Rules you picked yourself for your own worst week are the ones that survive to December.
- The dates are right. Your arc starts when you start. A generic "90 days" header quietly invites you to restart every time you slip; your actual start and end dates, printed at the top, do not.
One more practical difference: the generator's export is one page, double-sided with a tracker. Most templates floating around are a single image or a page you cannot print cleanly.
What is on the page
The printed contract is deliberately short — everything on it earns its place:
- Your name and a motto (optional, one line, quote ideas here if you want one)
- Your start and end dates and the number of days
- Your rules, numbered, with two standard clauses: never miss twice and keep the arc private (both optional)
- Lines for your signature and the date you signed
- Behind it, the 90-day tracker sheet: one row per day, one column per rule, one page for the whole arc
Just want a blank template?
If you would rather fill the page in by hand: open the generator, leave the default rules as they are (or clear them and add nothing), and export. What prints is a contract with four starter rules and an empty signature line — a perfectly good blank Winter Arc contract template, free, no email. Handwriting your rules in after printing is a fine way to do this; there is nothing magic about typing them.
And when the contract is on your wall, the online tracker is the companion for it: the same rules, a streak counter, and a streak save after seven perfect days, all kept in your browser with no account.
FAQ
Is the Winter Arc contract PDF really free?
Yes. The generator is free, with no email, no sign-up and no watermark. You write your rules, export the PDF, and it is yours. The site is supported by ads, not by charging for a printable.
Can I edit the PDF after I save it?
You do not need to. Change your rules in the generator and export again; the fresh PDF takes a few seconds. Your contract also stays in your browser, so returning to the generator later brings back what you wrote.
Does the PDF include a tracker?
Yes. The print export puts your one-page contract first and a 90-day tracker sheet behind it: one row per day, one column per rule. Print both pages double-sided and the whole arc fits on one sheet of paper.
Can I make the contract PDF on my phone?
Yes. The generator works in mobile Safari and Chrome. Export by tapping Print or PDF, then in the print preview pinch out on the page preview and choose Share, and Save PDF to Files or to your camera roll.
Is there a blank Winter Arc contract template?
Yes, in effect: open the generator and export without changing anything. You get a contract with the four default rules and empty lines for your name and signature, which you can fill in by hand after printing. Or clear the rules and write yours in the builder first.
